Build your own bowl featuring Teriyaki Sauce

Pantry Magic Teriyaki Sauce

We get that it can be tough to add more veggies or go meatless, so here’s a simple and delicious recipe to get you started!

For this meal, we used our refrigerator for inspiration and finding extra firm tofu, fresh broccoli, previously cooked red peppers and Brussels sprouts, we decided on building a bowl.

The process:

~We pressed organic extra firm tofu to remove excess water, cut into cubes (any size will do), placed 1/2 of the tofu in the teriyaki sauce and marinated while we prepared the broccoli for roasting.

Teriyaki Sauce

  • 1/2 cup low sodium tamari

  • 1/4 cup maple syrup

  • 3 tablespoons ketchup (no sugar added) or tomato paste

  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds toasted

  • 3 tablespoons water
Place all ingredients into a small blender and blend until smooth

~Veggies: We love roasted broccoli! We washed and prepared roughly 2lbs of broccoli by cutting it small for a quicker cooking time. Roast on parchment paper or a silicon pad for quicker clean up. Bake at 350 for 10-12  minutes.

~Sautéed red peppers and thinly sliced Brussels sprouts.

~While the broccoli was roasting, we put our basmati rice on to cook. 15 minutes.  You could also use a rice cooker or Instapot

~Next, we placed red peppers and Brussels sprouts into a skillet with 1 tablespoon of water to heat and removed them from the pan when hot.

~In the same skillet, place your marinated tofu and heat.

Time to build your bowl and drizzle with the extra teriyaki sauce.
